Separated at Birth?

I give up. You tell me which one is the Jessbot 3000 and which is Lieutenant Commander Data of the Starship Enterprise.

It has come to our attention (thanks, Jaybriel) that Ms. Lauper has tampered with critical functions of the Jessbot 3000's cognitive programming, including areas of long-term memory and the directions to strip clubs in any given territory. Because this is yet another serious breach of her contract with The Management, Ms. Lauper is expected to repair the unit immediately and make restitution to The Management in the form of substantial cash gifts.

In order to prevent further abuse of the unit, Ms. Lauper's access to the Jessbot is heretofore restricted to brief conversations about the weather and the occasional emergency recalibration, provided the only instruments used for said procedure are approved by Electric Larry for general use.

So is Data a ripoff of the Jessbot or the other way around?

Data is a toy when compared to the intricate design of The Jessbot 3000. Remember Data had no feelings but the Jessbot 3000 and Jesse VanHalen DO! Sometimes they feel picked on. Other times they feel abused. Rarely, but in this case, they feel used, and it's certainly not for the good of science or the people.

Mess with the Jessbot or Mr. VanHalen, and you're messing with me!

Did someone say "tool"?
